The Great Give: 36-hour Giving Event

Get a head start on making a difference! While The Great Give officially kicks off on May 1, your impact begins even earlier. Donations made between April 26 at 8 a.m. and May 2 at 8 p.m. count towards matches.

WHY DONATE?

During The Great Give 2024 we are raising much-needed funds and awareness in support of our mission to find permanent, loving homes for retired racing greyhounds. With your financial support, CGA can pay the expenses for special needs greyhounds that need extra care, like Keebler and Serenity.

As an all-volunteer 501(c) organization, CGA relies 100% on supporters and donors. 

• CGA has placed over 1,150 greyhounds in their forever homes since our inception in 2005. Retired racers came from Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Florida, and West Virginia, and since 2022, from Ireland. 
• In 2023, we placed 25 U.S.-based greyhounds from West Virginia and 22 Irish greyhounds. We are proud of the impact our organization has on greyhound adoption in the Northeast and CGA could not do what we do without our dedicated Board members, volunteers, and donors!

Your donation is so important because the more donors CGA has, the greater the portion of matches we receive from:

• The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven’s $100,000
• The Konopacke Fund’s $10,000 for animal charities
• The Valley Community foundation’s $20,000 for valley donors
• The Branford Community Foundation’s $500 donation.
