Meet Army, a handsome black boy who came off the track and immediately decided that the couch life was always meant for him. Relaxed and affectionate at home, Army is a true velcro hound who loves to be close to his people and will happily follow you from room to room just to keep tabs on things.

Army is settling in beautifully to the rhythms of home life. He’s curious about the world outside, pausing to take in the squirrels, bunnies, lawnmowers, and rumbling trucks that catch his eye on walks. He doesn’t pull on leash; he just stops to think things over. Once he decides he’s ready, he’s right back on track. Evening walks tend to be his sweet spot.

He’s met kids (ages 10 and up) and did well with one-on-one introductions. Large groups of new people at once can feel like a lot for Army right now, so a patient, low-key introduction to a busy household will help him shine.

When left home alone, Army may voice his displeasure briefly, but he settles down and waits. When you return, prepare yourself: this boy’s greeting is enthusiastic and heartfelt.

Army has shown he thrives in the company of other dogs, particularly fellow greyhounds, and would likely do well in a multi-dog home.
