Ashton is one handsome fellow, and he’s quickly learning that retired life has a lot to offer! He loves being near his people and soaking up attention, and he has discovered that his foster mom’s house is filled with dog beds. Naturally, Ashton feels it’s his responsibility to try them all, moving from bed to bed and looking ridiculously adorable on each one.

One of his favorite parts of the day is his walk to the beach, where he’ll stand in the water and quietly take everything in. After his daily outing, he spends much of the day napping in true greyhound form, usually putting one of those many dog beds to very good use. He gets along wonderfully with his greyhound foster sister and enjoys visits from other greyhound friends.

Ashton arrived quite nervous, but he’s settling into his routine and gaining confidence every day. He still needs time to acclimate to unfamiliar neighborhood noises and seems happiest following the lead of another greyhound. We think a home with another greyhound or a confident human who can guide him could be a great fit.

His house manners are coming along beautifully, and Ashton is very food motivated — perhaps a little too enthusiastic at mealtime! His foster family is helping this hungry boy learn that dinner doesn’t disappear if you take your time.

Ashton is a sweet, sensitive guy who is discovering just how nice home life can be. We can’t wait to see more of his personality emerge as he continues to settle in.
